PAACS Resident Profile

Dr. Alain Jules Ndibanje

Dr. Alain Jules Ndibanje was raised in a Christian home in Rwanda and came to know Christ as a child. He has always held onto the verse Isaiah 41:10 - "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Always lifting any fears to God, he remains faithful to God's plan, relying on His strength.

After completing medical school, he soon realized that while he had gained many new skills he was unable to surgically care for his patients. He struggled as he watched patients suffer while waiting to access a qualified surgeon who could provide needed surgical care. It was at this time that Dr. Ndibanje decided to make a difference for his community by pursuing training as a surgeon. After learning of PAACS from a colleague, he saw it as a completely unique approach. Along with quality surgical training, it provided him the opportunity to freely practice his spiritual beliefs and even encouraged him to share the Word of God with patients. He had never seen these freedoms available or encouraged in his previous studies.

Throughout his pediatric surgical training with PAACS, he's watched many within the pediatric department at AIC Kijabe Hospital/BethanyKids openly pray with their patients and families. Team bible studies and daily morning devotions have also allowed him to grow and know Christ better. Since joining PAACS, he has prayed with countless mothers over their babies and upcoming surgical procedures. These moms are full of fear and sometimes have lost hope. Dr. Ndibanje loves to share Isaiah 41:10 with them, helping to relieve their fears, assuring them that God will provide strength.

Dr. Ndibanje is planning to return to his home country of Rwanda. Currently, with only one pediatric surgeon for the entire country, he is looking forward to immediately impacting the ability for children to have access to much needed surgery. He is also anticipating sharing Christ with a new generation of Rwandans and helping them come to Christ.
