Training with PAACS is allowing me to experience God's love and compassion daily. I see it while working with my attendings and colleagues during rounds, clinic, and in the OR. I have seen them moved with compassion and break down in tears as patients battle with illness, malnutrition, and other conditions.

Recently, I witnessed a case that has changed my life. I remember the little boy who was operated upon by myself and an attending on account of typhoid perforations. He was so sick and septic. Medically speaking, his condition was very bad and we all thought it would be difficult to recover. He was not strong enough to go back for his second look. As such, we continued managing and explaining his condition to his parents. Together, we joined in prayer for him. I prayed, too, but honestly, with the facts that were visible to me, my faith did not feel up to a mustard seed.

To the glory of God, he started to improve after a few days. Finally, we could take him back for his second look and fascial closure. For me, this was a miracle! It strengthened my faith in God, showing me that God is real. God listens to our little prayers. We need to keep praying and not get tired. Don't lose hope. God is here with us in PAACS, and He is in the business of touching and changing lives. Nothing is too hard for Him to do!

God has invited me to be part of something bigger than me! I am truly humbled, and never want to get to a point where I am no longer in awe of Him!
